Lajes Field to Andersen Air Force Base
PRODUCT: Equipment at Lajes Field in the Azores, Portugal
PURCHASE ORDER: Government Contract Project to refurbish equipment
Our Los Angeles client was experienced in working with government agencies, so when they learned that the Air Force had a piece of equipment at Lajes Field in the Azores, Portugal just gathering dust that needed restoration, they couldn’t wait to bid on the project. They knew they had the right team and the right experience to make a difference. When they were awarded the contract, the terms of completing the project included sending onsite restoration and leading a team to Andersen Air Force Base in Guam.
For the government, the savings to refurbish would be significant over the cost of a new item. But now, our L.A. client needed financing to complete the restoration project.
Before being introduced to GTP, our client tried to obtain funding from several finance companies, only to be denied. It wasn’t until they were introduced by a mutual contractor that Global Trading Partners reviewed the contract and was able to extend funding for onsite restoration. Our funding included acquiring the raw materials and axillary costs to complete the project. Over the course of the next three months all of the components were refurbished or replaced, the power supply was converted, and the equipment looked like new. And while the containerized shipment was on the water the crew flew out to complete site prep.
Following installation and testing the equipment was accepted and DFAS Japan was given the greenlight to release funds. Win-Win for the government contract and our client!
Fleet Activities Sasebo
PRODUCT: Fleet Equipment Project
PURCHASE ORDER: Upfront Costs for First Government Contract Order
It’s difficult for small contractors to break into the prime contracting world but where there’s a will there’s a way especially for this San Diego based Disabled Veteran-owned small business. Our client was persistent and kept pushing forward and were ultimately awarded one of the bigger fleet services contracts which meant they needed significantly more working capital to hire talent and procure materials. It wasn’t long after that, that they realized these facts that they were introduced to Global.
It was their first contract and they needed to assemble a crew, source material and do so very quickly! Not to mention that equipment needed to be shipped to Japan with the team not far behind.
There were a lot of up-front costs but the funding from Global covered 100% of those expenses and related costs such as overseas freight. The terms of the contract were completely fulfilled and then more good news. Two more ships needed work and the contractor was also awarded those contracts.
Three Point Sling
PRODUCT: Rifle Slings – webbing and connectors
PURCHASE ORDER: Government Contract Production
When a Defense Logistics Agency needed rifle slings, our client didn’t hesitate to submit a bid for the contract. They were confident they had what it would take to fulfill the opportunity. And they were right. It wasn’t long thereafter they were contacted and were awarded the bid.
Component inventory of webbing and connectors needed to be initially completed so that the production line could function. The contractor was introduced to Global by their factor and the due diligence was completed very quickly. A subordination agreement needed to be negotiated with a prior lender, the Assignment of Claims was filed, and funding was extended to our client.
We’d like to say it was all smooth sailing but if you’ve ever needed to submit first articles for approval and then obtain DCMA Quality Assurance prior to each shipment, then you know that there are going to be delays outside your control. While we knew this was just part of the procedure, Global stood by the client as the process evolved and all units were ultimately delivered. Not only were they delivered, but they were received ahead of schedule and well under budget. Our client generated sufficient profits to complete Option Year 1 without any additional financing requirements.
