Our client, an inventor and exporter of green technology, had been working of a long time to export clean western technology to his homeland in North Africa. He secured the distribution rights for a product manufactured in the midwest and the foreign government department had signed the contract for a trial project.
Next a letter of credit was issued and advised through a US bank in Florida. Turning that L/C into cash was more difficult than expected until the exporter was introduced to Global Trading Partners.
Global did more than just provide funds to the manufacturer so that the product could be loaded into containers. Global assisted with arranging shipping, a task that was complicated by a storm that closed several East Coast ports.
We also worked with the forwarder to have the bill of lading issued in accordance with the terms and conditions of the L/C. While our client’s expertise was in engineering he wasn’t experienced with creating international shipping documents. The invoice, packing list, and various other certificates were all created and presented to the negotiating bank by Global. The documents were discrepancy free and payment followed quickly.
